The French government hopes, with new regulations regarding cellphone use at schools, can break down student addiction to cellphones and help them to focus more on the class.
Quoted from Business Insider, Thursday (2/8/18), this rule applies to all students with a maximum age of 15 years, except for those who use mobile phones for educational purposes, certain extracurricular activities or those with disabilities.
This is not the first time France has passed a law banning cellphone use. In February, the government banned drivers from using cellphones while in a car, even when they were not actually driving.
This regulation makes the drivers have to pull the car to be able to use the cellphone so that it has the potential to cause congestion. At present, drivers can only use cellphones in the designated parking area.
